Q: Will the Combo league count towards my NTRP Rating?
A: No it will not.
Q: Does a team have to play the exact NTRP combination?
A: No. For example, if your team is registered in the 6.5 league, you may play a 3.0 + 3.0 combination or even a 2.5 + 3.0 combination. You may play any combination as long as the two players do not go over the level you are registered for and you may have up to a 1.5 NTRP differential between the two players.
Q: Is the Combo league a USTA league?
A: Yes, it is a USTA League. However, at this point and time it does not go beyond the Virginia District level.
Q: Do you need to be a USTA member to play is this league?
A: Yes. The membership needs to be current through Oct. 31, 2008.
Q: Is TennisLink going to be used?
A: Yes. It will be used to record the scores. Keep in mind that the results will NOT go towards your NTRP rating.
Q: Will I get a Team Code when I register my team?
A: Yes. Each team will be issued a new team code from HCTL, Inc. once your registration form and deposit is received.
Q: Where and when are matches played?
A: The 2 main locations will be Fairfax Racquet Club and 4 Seasons. I will also use Burke and Worldgate if needed. The matches will be weekday nights and also on weekends.
Q: How many matches will each team be scheduled for?
A: It depends on how many teams register. Since this is a newer league, it is very difficult to determine how many teams will register at each level. However, I will try to give each team at least 8 matches for the season.
Q: Will the 2-player rule be in effect?
A: Yes. It is in effect.
Q: What is the maximun number of players on each team?
A: 22.
Q: Can a player play on more than one team.
A: Yes. As long as it is at a different level. For example: a player can play on a 5.5, 6.5 & 7.5 team. You can NOT play on two 6.5 teams in the No. Va. combo league.
Q: Is there a Championship to progress to?
A: Yes. Tentatively scheduled for Oct 3-6, 2008.
Q: When is the deadline to register a team?
A: July 21, 2008.
Q: Is there going to be a captains meeting?
A: No. I will e-mail everyone the schedule.
Q: What are the fees involved for this league?
A: USTA membership: $40; League fee: 18.00; TennisLink Convenience Fee: $2.50; Match fee: $15.00 per person per match or $90.00 per match. This includes 1.5 hour court time and balls.
